Un atelier de validation sur la mise en œuvre du code international pour la sûreté des navires, et des installations portuaires au Port Autonome de Douala s’est tenue le 4 juillet 2011 à Yaoundé.
Les responsables de l’administration, de la police et de la marine camerounaise ont pris part aux travaux qui ont duré un jour. La finalité de la rencontre était la prise de conscience des acteurs du secteur des transports maritimes afin que les activités maritimes se déroulent en toute sécurité. Il est question de d’intensifier la lutte contre la piraterie, de réduire les pertes de temps et de susciter la diminution des primes d’assurance.
